ABOUT ME
“I’m drawn to psychological drama/comedy, the thin blurry line of sanity, dysfunctional family, ghosts (real and imagined), martyrs, causes, social justice, and saving the planet from our limited understanding of it.”
When I was in kindergarten, I negotiated peace between the boys’ and girls’ factions on the playground. It may not sound like a big deal to you, but the girls were getting their heads bashed against a rock fort. I still wonder about what those boys grew up to be. And where the teachers were.
I make up stories about random strangers I see on the street. Sometimes they’re short stories. Sometimes they grow into fully formed characters based on one small observation. I used to assume everyone did this. (Now I have my doubts).
I’m fascinated with the uniqueness of every human being, their humor or lack of it, the chasm between what they say and do, the parts they show off and the hidden aspects.

WRITING & PRODUCTION CONSULTING
You may or may not be an accomplished writer but I know that writing about your own idea often feels close to impossible because you’re too close. You love it too much. You oversell (or undersell). You over-tell.
If you’re stuck between your rock-solid concept and the hard place of expressing it, I can help. As an added bonus, going through this process will help prepare you to answer the inevitable questions you’ll likely be asked by a potential buyer/funder.
Let’s talk about how I can help: contact me here.
HARD SKILLS & WORLD EXPERIENCE...
A PBS series I’ve written for - “ECOSENSE FOR LIVING” - has won three Emmys!
I’ve written feature length scripts, shorts, television pilots, web series, a podcast, and about a hundred episodes of documentary (and reality) television. Now, a novel.
I also have experience as a Director - "The Van Life" is a semi-finalist in Top Shorts Film Fest!
I have tons of experience writing from documentary and interview footage.
I understand budgets and can write to a range.
I enjoy collaboration and have experience co-writing with different partners.
I appreciate and respect deadlines.
Our short film, "Return of the Buffalo," about the Lakota people of South Dakota welcoming back a wild herd of buffalo on their land, has made it into the Bozeman Film Festival, Docs Without Borders Festival and Vancouver Independent Film Festival.
